<p>The movie was launched in theaters on Friday and was directed by Anil Sharma, who previously worked on the 2001 original Gadar: Ek Prem Katha.</p>

<p>The producers claimed in a press release that “Gadar 2 featuring Sunny Deol, stormed the box office on Friday, boasting an extraordinary Rs 40.10 crore net collections in India.”</p>

<p>Ameesha Patel reprises her role as Sakeena in the Zee Studios-produced film, which also stars Ukarsh Sharma as Charanjeet.</p>

<p>In the 1971 film Gadar 2, Tara Singh travels to Pakistan in order to save his son Charanjeet Singh from the Pakistani Army. During the Partition, the original was established.</p>

<p>The creators claim that the movie had the second-largest opening weekend of the year to date. Pathaan, an action movie starring Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, garnered Rs 55 crore on its first day.</p>
