According to BCCI, Shreyas has not entirely recovered from a back spasm and is unable to play in the SL game

Shreyas Iyer, an Indian batsman, won’t be able to play in Tuesday’s Asia Cup Super 4 match against Sri Lanka because he hasn’t completely recovered from a back spasm, according to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).<img decoding=”async” class=”alignnone wp-image-176659″ src=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-according-to-bcci-shreyas-has-not-entirely-recovered-from-a-back-spasm-and-is-unab.jpg” alt=”theindiaprint.com according to bcci shreyas has not entirely recovered from a back spasm and is unab” width=”1208″ height=”804″ srcset=”https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-according-to-bcci-shreyas-has-not-entirely-recovered-from-a-back-spasm-and-is-unab.jpg 275w, https://www.theindiaprint.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/theindiaprint.com-according-to-bcci-shreyas-has-not-entirely-recovered-from-a-back-spasm-and-is-unab-150×100.jpg 150w” sizes=”(max-width: 1208px) 100vw, 1208px” title=”According to BCCI, Shreyas has not entirely recovered from a back spasm and is unable to play in the SL game 3″>

The medical team had urged Iyer to take it easy, according to the BCCI, thus he did not accompany Team India to the R Premadasa Stadium.

“Shreyas Iyer is feeling better, although his back spasm hasn’t completely subsided. He has not accompanied the squad to the stadium today for India’s Super 4 match against Sri Lanka after the BCCI Medical squad recommended rest, according to a statement on social networking site X.

Rahul was awarded an ODI game in a last-minute decision, while Iyer had back spasms during the practice session before to Sunday’s Super 4 match against Pakistan.

Following a back ailment, the 28-year-old has just rejoined the team and participated in both of India’s group-stage matches against Pakistan and Nepal.

Given that this is the batter’s third back-related incident in the last six months or so, Iyer’s health will be closely monitored.

He was forced to miss the whole of the Indian Premier League (IPL) season and a chunk of the home series against Australia due to a prior back issue.
